And just like that, we have 2 more hooper schools in the mix. The next game didn’t offer complex story lines and flashy plots, but the stark contrast of rival philosophies didn’t fail us either. It was the battle of Stern structured offense of Stanford vs the full court, never-ending transition onslaught of Maryland. As we expected, the contest boiled down to the last couple of possessions. In my eyes, the deciding factor of this was Maya Thompson defense that effortlessly made one last attempt from Maryland to score virtually impossible.
